Farewell to PUSH the Talking Trashcan
We have confirmed the news that Push the Talking Trashcan will no longer roam the streets of Disney’s Tommorowland.
My better half is a Disney cast member and was able to confirm that the last performance was on February 8, 2014 and the official “closure” was as of 2/09/2014.
There has been no official announcement from Disney, but I am sure we will here
something from them that may clarify why the decision was made to retire Push. I can tell you that Push was owned and operated by a company contracted by Disney and not Disney itself. There may be some issue with the contract that may have lead to this decision.
Many fans have taken to social media to try and keep Push around by tweeting @WaltDisneyWorld with the hashtag #SavePUSH and by creating a Facebook page Save PUSH the Talking Trashcan which currently has over 7 thousand likes.
Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to meet Push in person, but I have enjoyed watching many videos of him interacting with guests at WDW and have spent a few of my trips to Magic Kingdom searching for him.
I can only hope that in the near future, I will get the chance to meet this wonderful character and be able to make some memories like many others have done for the last 19 years.
If you had the privilege of meeting PUSH, please share your memories with us in the comments below or on our Facebook page @ Disney Superfans Club.
Happy Memories ºoº!
